Orientation term

historically accurate ancient greek fashion

PROJECT THEME for 2017: How does the world shape us, how do we shape the world

STATEMENT of PURPOSE: To learn more about ancient Greek fashion and culture through hands-on work.

GUIDING QUESTIONS:

How does society shape what people wear?

How did fashion trends meant for one type of people end up being worn by a totally different type of people?

How did fashion from long ago translate into today's fashion trends?

GOAL(s): To create 3 different articles of clothing from Ancient Greece.

EVIDENCE:  The articles of clothing, my notes, and a tri-fold presentation. I will also include my designs.

EVALUATION: I assessed my projects with this rubric that I created with help from my adviser:

PROCESS: I did research online and in books to discover what I should base my designs after. I then created my designs. After that, I ordered the fabric that I needed, pinned the fabric, and sewed them. I got people to model for me, and constructed a tri-fold. Here is my project plan to see all of my steps in detail.

RESOURCES: I used books, websites, and even some of my previous knowledge on the topic for my project. Here is the full list of resources:
