Service thesis project
combatting relational aggression with an in-school girl power program
Here is my STP (service thesis project) proposal, which was edited and revised by Michelle Goldsmith, my advisor for this project.
This is one of the slideshows I created for my school program at Folsom Elementary school
This is my mentor feedback form, completed by Keagan Calkins
This is my STP hours log, demonstrating an estimated amount of hours worked on the project.
At the end of this project (and the end of the school program) I surveyed the girls participated and asked what they thought they got out of the program. These were their answers:
-
Friendship goals, it helped a lot
-
What I've gotten out of this group was fun and stickers!
-
I feel more confident in myself
-
The good things about being a girl!
-
Now I know where I really want to go (to school I believe)
Seeing their responses really helped me to see the impact that I had made. This project was a lot of work, but it was also so much fun to do. It also made me feel more confident in my teaching skills, as well as my ability to reach out and make connections with community members.
